Market News Highlights

  • Yesterday sensex opened with 120 point gain and was trading with positive biased. Asian and EU markets were also opened and closed with gain following US market gains on friday. After bit volatility in market, Sensex and nifty finally managed to close above 9 months high at  14841 and 4543 level respectively. Small cap index was up 3.5% and mid-cap index was up nearly 3%. The easing liquidity situation has helped the realty index to trade in GREEN with 5% points up.

  • Auto sales reported positive in may 2009 with cumulative auto sales index up by 8%.

  • US-based automobile major General Motors has filed Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection. GM, reeling under the financial crisis that has severely affected banks and automobile companies in the US, has listed assets of USD 82.29 billion as of March 31 and liabilities of USD 172.81 billion. – India Earnings

  • Market Lot Size has been revised by NSE: Read here .  As market lot size is reduced by 2 to 4 in many stocks, we may see heavy market crash in september 2009. As i was saying Nifty should touch 3000 level again in 2009. Nothing has changed in last 3 months and FIIs had pulled up market to 4500 level. Now they will start booking profits. Government is also helping them in playing this game. As they had inceased LOT size 3 months before and that had brought market up very rapidaly now market U turn will start soon.     @kiran thanks for your reply. its not that good company but in july we may see some hikes in steel price so we may see ispat getting good profits out of it. so if u have bought it on lower levels then u can hold otherwise dont enter for fresh positions. Better to go with Tata steel or JSW Steel.
